Medical Compressed Air & Gas Testing

The NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities specification provides requirements for medical gas systems in health care facilities. Trace provides medical air and gas analyses in support of these guidelines.

Medical Breathing Air Testing

Trace’s routine compressed air analysis turnaround is fast – within 1-3 business days of receipt a report will be emailed. If the sample fails to meet specifications, you will be notified by one of our AirCheck experts via phone or email. However, if you need your results faster – Same Day Rush Services are available for an additional fee.

Would a paramagnetic or laser oxygen analyzer be able to detect all possible contaminants or impurities in a medical gas? No. Although, paramagnetic and laser oxygen analyzers are very accurate and reliable when calibrated correctly, these types of analyzers can only detect the identification and strength of oxygen. They are unable to detect contaminants or impurities that may be present, such as hydrocarbons or arsenic compounds. For more information see this document from the FDA.

Trace Analytics strongly recommends reading NFPA 99 in its entirety for a full understanding of all standards pertaining to health care facilities. A copy of NFPA 99 can be viewed or purchased at nfpa.org.
