BRC Compressed Air Monitoring
The BRC (British Retail Consortium) has long required compressed air and gas monitoring. While they do not state acceptable limits for contaminants in their standard, they have been contributors to more than one of the BCAS’s (British Compressed Air Society) more specific and current, Best Practice Guideline. The BCAS, early on, adopted ISO 8573 classes and limits for their Guideline. It is generally accepted by industry professionals that ISO 8573 is the go-to specification for manufacturers.
We Assist Many BRC Manufacturers
Rest assured that we assist many BRC food manufacturers with their compressed air and gas monitoring programs. Our ISO 17025 accredited laboratory has the ability to provide analysis not only to the stringent limits and classes of ISO 8573 but to many custom specifications as well. We Make Compressed Air Monitoring Easy
We provide you with the necessary materials and training to obtain the air or gas sample. You return the sample(s) to our lab and we will provide the results in a Report via email. Let us know how frequently you would like to test and we will send you reminders at testing time. Training is free and available online. It is that simple!
Results for basic ISO 8573-1 (particle, water, oil) testing take 5-7 working days with a RUSH option available with 1 working day turnaround. Additional fees apply for each sample receiving RUSH reporting. Customers needing to measure class 1 & 2 requirements of the smallest particle range of 0.1-0.5 microns will need to inquire about our laser particle counter (LPC). Particles this size range require a more sophisticated type of analyses. This unit is not for sale and is limited to rental within the USA.
We also provide microbiological testing within the USA. International customers will be referred to the best resource for their country.
In some areas around the world we have independent distributors that will come to your location, collect and submit the samples for you. If you are interested in this option please let us know. We will do our best to locate a distributor near to you.
Using an independent distributor is a great option for a food manufacturer. Service distributors often have a vast knowledge of compressed air and gas systems and/or food safety protocols. This can be a benefit to you if you need assistance not only with testing and compliance, but also maintaining your compressed air or gas system.
